About this place
Ta'izz is a city in the southern Yemeni Mountains, nestled at the foot of Mount Sabir at an elevation of roughly 1,400 meters. Its setting and climate are often noted as being quite pleasant throughout the year. The city is well-developed by national standards, with very good roads, and is known for being reasonably clean. Historically, Ta'izz once served as the capital of the Rasulid state.
As a regional center, Ta'izz offers a blend of historical sites and highland scenery. Its position at a significant altitude provides a more temperate climate compared to the coastal regions of Yemen, making it a comfortable base for exploring the surrounding area.
