About this place
Zográfos is a suburb within the Athens metropolitan area in the Attica region of Greece. It sits on the Attica peninsula, a historically rich area stretching into the Aegean Sea that is widely known as the cradle of democracy. The greater region is separated by mountain ranges such as Hymettus and Penteli and opens onto the Saronic Gulf to the south.
As part of the tightly woven Athens urban area, Zográfos gives visitors a quieter residential base with quick access to the capital’s major archaeological sites, museums, and transport hubs. The nearby mountains and coastline shape the landscape and offer easy escapes from city sightseeing.
