About this place
Yeosu is a picturesque port city on South Korea's southern coast, spread across a peninsula and over 300 islands. Known for its seafood, night views, and maritime history, the city has a relaxed coastal atmosphere that balances small-town charm with modern development. The compact downtown around Jungang-dong overlooks Dolsan Bridge and the harbor, while the surrounding islands host most of the major tourist attractions.
The city gained international attention as host of the 2012 World Expo, and visitors today can explore the Expo site east of the harbor. Yeosu's ocean climate brings mild winters, pleasant summers, and extended spring and autumn seasons compared to inland Korea, making it an appealing year-round coastal destination.
