About this place
Toyohashi is a strategically located city in Aichi Prefecture, sitting roughly halfway between Tokyo and Osaka. Known as an industrial and logistics hub, it boasts Japan's largest port for automobile imports and exports, with major manufacturing facilities nearby.
Beyond its economic role, Toyohashi offers a quieter slice of Japanese life. Yoshida Castle anchors the pleasant city center, hinting at its history as an important post town on the old Tokaido road linking Edo with Kyoto. The city also provides access to extensive forests and the coastal habitats of the nearby Atsumi Peninsula.
