About this place
Qarshi, known historically as Nakhshab and Nasab, is a city in southern Uzbekistan with a story that stretches back through Persian and Arab rule. Its modern name comes from the Mongolian word for palace, a nod to the residences built here after the Mongol invasion. Today it serves as a regional center in a nation rich with Silk Road heritage.
