About this place
Purwakarta sits in Parahyangan mountain region of Western Java, about halfway between Greater Jakarta and Bandung, and serves as the capital of Purwakarta regency. Its position at the foothills makes it a gateway to the surrounding highlands and home to the massive Jatiluhur reservoir, the largest artificial lake in Indonesia.
