About this place
Passo Fundo is a mid-sized city in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil's southernmost state. It's often called the Land of Good People and serves as the regional capital of the mid-plateau. With a population of around 200,000, the city is known as a center of gaúcho culture and a national capital of literature.
