About this place

Last updated Jul 19, 2026

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is the primary gateway to Las Vegas, located just south of the Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The airport reflects the city’s character from the moment you arrive — slot machines fill the gate areas, a fitting welcome to the entertainment capital. Terminal 1, opened in 1963, serves most domestic flights with a compact, retro feel, while Terminal 3, opened in 2012, handles international and some domestic service with a modern, high-ceilinged design. All gates are connected airside via a series of people movers, making layovers navigable without re-clearing security.

Planning Tips

Last updated Jul 19, 2026
  • Curbside check-in tradeoffs — it saves time but costs $4 per bag plus tip; open tickets may not receive seat assignments until boarding.
  • Use the free inter-terminal shuttle — a shuttle runs every 12–15 minutes before security between terminals, with clearly marked stops on Level Zero.
  • Ride hailing pickup locations — Lyft and Uber collect passengers on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 parking garage and the valet level of the Terminal 3 parking garage.
  • Public transit budget option — Bus 108 connects Terminal 1 to the Deuce bus along the Strip for $2, while the Centennial Express (CX) serves both terminals and major resort areas.
  • Inspect rental cars carefully — note all damage before leaving the Rent-A-Car Center to avoid disputes, and build in extra time for shuttle transfers when returning a vehicle.
