About this place
Palhoça is a regional center of about 175,000 residents in the Grande Florianópolis area of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Settled largely by Azoreans since the 18th century, the city retains a strong link to its coastal heritage while functioning as a growing residential and commercial hub south of the state capital. Its position along BR-101 makes it a natural gateway for travelers moving between Florianópolis and the southern beaches or inland toward the Serrana region.
