About this place

Last updated Jun 9, 2026

Page is a city of about 7,600 people in northern Arizona, best known as the gateway to two iconic natural attractions: Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell. Nestled on the Colorado Plateau, this small desert community offers easy access to slot canyons, a massive reservoir, and dramatic river landscapes.

Page serves as a convenient base for exploring the surrounding high desert. Travelers can drive U.S. Route 89 south toward Flagstaff or northwest toward Kanab, Utah, and Arizona State Route 98 leads into town from the southeast. The city also has its own municipal airport with flights from Las Vegas and Phoenix.

Planning Tips

Last updated Jun 9, 2026
  • Book Antelope Canyon tours well in advance, especially during spring and fall, as they sell out quickly.
  • Horseshoe Bend requires a short hike — wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water, especially in summer.
  • Antelope Canyon is a Navajo Tribal Park — entry fees are about $8 per adult (under 8 free), and no camping is allowed inside the park.
  • Flash flood risk is real: check weather forecasts before entering slot canyons and follow guide instructions.
  • For Lake Powell activities, consider renting a boat or kayak in advance during peak travel months.
  • The Page Public Library offers free WiFi — a useful stop for connectivity needs.
