About this place
Ormoc is a port city on the western coast of Leyte Island, serving as a key transit hub for the region. Travelers often pass through its ferry terminals en route to Cebu or other parts of Leyte, but the city also holds its own as a gateway to natural attractions. The surrounding landscape includes geothermal parks, mountain trails, and pineapple plantations that hint at the area’s agricultural and volcanic character.
The city balances a working waterfront with a few historical landmarks, including a Spanish-era bridge and World War II memorials. For visitors, Ormoc offers a mix of low-key exploration, local fruit markets, and access to cooler highland escapes just a short drive inland.
