About this place
Nagercoil is the southernmost city on the Indian mainland, located in Tamil Nadu close to the Kerala border. Historically it was the second most important city in the former Travancore state, and this heritage is reflected in its cultural and religious landmarks. The city serves as a gateway to the region’s prominent Hindu temples and the landscapes of India’s deep south.
