About this place

Mytishchi is a mid-sized industrial city in North Moscow Oblast, bordering Moscow to the southwest. Known as a principal industrial center for machinery and armaments, the city also offers several historical and recreational attractions that make it an interesting day-trip or short-stay destination from the capital.

Convenient elektrichka and rapid Sputnik train connections run frequently between Mytishchi and Moscow’s Yaroslavsky Station, and the journey traces the route of Russia’s first elektrichka line. For a different approach, you can take the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line to the Medvedkovo terminus and then catch a bus or marshrutka to the center.
