About this place
Marne-la-Vallée is a planned new town in the eastern suburbs of Paris, best known as the home of Disneyland Paris. Built in sectors from the 1960s onward to absorb overspill from the capital, it stretches along the RER A line and the A4 motorway. While the theme park dominates the tourist map, the area also offers unexpected architectural gems, from postmodern 1980s estates in Noisy-le-Grand to the neo-traditionalist design of Val d'Europe. This blend of a global resort and a functional Parisian suburb creates a destination with distinct, contrasting pockets of interest.
