About this place
Tlalpan is the largest borough of Mexico City, encompassing a blend of quiet colonial charm and expansive green spaces. Its Centro Histórico offers stately colonial houses and cobblestoned streets that remain largely undiscovered by international tourists, making it a serene and safe area to explore. South of the center, the landscape rises into the Ajusco volcanic range, giving much of Tlalpan a rural, forested character.
Pedregal is a wealthy residential district built on lava rock from the Xitle volcano. Its winding, tree-lined streets are home to the Cuicuilco Archaeological Site, one of Mexico's oldest sites and known for its unusual circular pyramid. The area also features ecological reserves and large modern shopping centers like Perisur and ARTZ.
