About this place
Lushui (Liuku) is the administrative seat of the Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern Yunnan. It functions primarily as a transport hub for travelers heading to more northerly destinations along the Nujiang valley, such as Gongshan and Bingzhongluo. While not a traditional tourist destination, the city is clean, pleasant, and makes for a relaxing stopover, offering a low-key glimpse of riverside life. Its compact size means getting around is easy on foot or by taxi.

- Nighttime riverside stroll — The riverfront comes alive in the evenings. It's a great spot to watch locals dancing or to relax with a drink at one of the many bars.
- Panoramic hilltop walk — A pathway runs up the hill from the footbridge and along the ridge, offering a great view over the city. It's easy to find, especially at night when illuminated with neon lights.
