About this place

Last updated Jul 19, 2026

The city of Lucena is the administrative and economic hub of Quezon Province, conveniently situated along the Maharlika Highway. It functions as a vital transportation gateway, particularly as the primary stopover point for travelers heading to the island province of Marinduque. While it hosts the historical provincial capitol and major government offices, the city operates independently from the province.

The city center, known as the Poblacion, is laid out in a straightforward grid pattern that makes exploration on foot easy. Beyond the downtown area, a network of jeepneys and tricycles connects visitors to the rest of the city.
