About this place

Last updated Jun 9, 2026

Lincoln City is a coastal town of about 9,800 people (2020) on Oregon's Central Coast, roughly a two-hour drive southwest of Portland. Known to some as the "Kite Capital of the World," the town hosts two kite festivals annually and is a laid-back beach destination for visitors looking to relax, fly a kite, or try their luck at the local casino. The city is compact and easy to navigate by car, bike, foot, or public bus, with much of the grid laid out around the 'D' River and Highway 101.
