About this place
Corinth is a Peloponnese port city that serves as a gateway between mainland Greece and the peninsula. It is divided into two distinct parts — the modern city, which is the commercial and transport hub, and the archaeological zone of Ancient Corinth about 5 km away, where the region’s layered history is most visible. The area has been settled since at least 6000 BC, though repeated earthquakes have left few old constructions standing in the newer town.
