About this place
Khammam is a small city in southern India’s Telangana state, about 200 km east of Hyderabad. Its name traces back to a local hill — "Stambhadri," later "Kambham" — and reflects a long history that continues to shape the town’s character today. The municipal corporation serves up a relaxed small-town experience with easy access to modern amenities and entertainment.
Khammam sits on the main north–south railway line, making it a well-connected stop between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Frequent buses and shared auto rickshaws make getting around straightforward, while a handful of local eateries and theatres give visitors a taste of everyday life in the region.
