About this place
Kajang is a bustling city in southeastern Selangor, about 20 km south of Kuala Lumpur. Home to roughly 236,000 residents, it’s widely known as the Satay Town for its famous skewered, barbecued meat—a culinary highlight that draws visitors from across the region. Rapid growth has introduced new townships like Prima Saujana, Taman Kantan Permai, and Kajang Perdana, blending modern development with longstanding local traditions.
Good road links make it an easy trip from the capital. The historical Federal Route 1 runs right through town, while expressways such as the Grand Saga, SILK, and South Klang Valley Expressway offer tolled alternatives from Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Shah Alam, and Putrajaya. Public buses and trains also connect Kajang directly to Kuala Lumpur and points further south.
