About this place
Jingzhou is a city steeped in over 6,000 years of history on the banks of the Yangtze River. Once the capital of the ancient State of Chu, it served as a political and cultural powerhouse during the Warring States Period and later gained fame during the Three Kingdoms era. Today, it is a thriving prefecture-level city in Hubei Province, known as the “Land of Fish and Rice” for its fertile plains and abundant waterways.
The city is perhaps most famous for its remarkably intact ancient city wall, a centerpiece that anchors much of the sightseeing. Its flat terrain and developing infrastructure, including a growing bus network and ride-hailing services, make it accessible for exploration.
