About this place
Iquique is a coastal city in Northern Chile known for its duty-free shopping, resort-lined beaches, and well-preserved 19th-century architecture. Originally a Peruvian settlement, it grew rapidly during the saltpetre mining boom and was annexed by Chile after the War of the Pacific.
