About this place
Higashihiroshima is a university city in Hiroshima Prefecture, best known for the sake-brewing district of Saijo. The compact, flat streets of Saijo make it an easy day trip from Hiroshima, with red-brick chimneys and traditional architecture lining the lanes. It’s also a commuter town for Hiroshima and home to Hiroshima University, giving it a lively student atmosphere.
