Its calendar is packed with festivals, from the Azkena Rock Festival in June to the jazz festival in July and the lively Virgen Blanca festivities in August. Visitors will find excellent Basque cuisine, a relaxed pace of life, and easy access to the renowned wine regions of La Rioja Alavesa just to the south.
