About this place

Last updated Aug 22, 2026

Cary is a fast-growing suburb in North Carolina's Research Triangle region, just outside the state capital of Raleigh. Known for its high concentration of transplants, the town blends a quiet, residential feel with growing economic gravity of its own. The compact downtown core is walkable, but the community is spread out, so a car is the most practical way to get around.

Positioned near the intersection of several major highways, Cary makes a convenient base for exploring the wider Triangle area. It is about nine miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport and offers easy road access to Durham, Chapel Hill, and destinations further west.
