About this place

Central Busan is the historic heart of the city, encompassing the districts of Dong-gu, Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, and Busanjin-gu. This area is the old town, rich with post-war architecture, working docks, and a distinct atmosphere that showcases the city's heritage.

Getting around Central Busan is convenient with the Metro Line 1 running through most of the area (except Nam-gu, served by Line 2). The two lines intersect at Seomyeon, a bustling city center and shopping district. KTX high-speed trains connect Busan Station directly to Seoul and other major cities, while five international ferry routes (operated by the port from near Jungang Station) link to destinations in Japan including Fukuoka, Osaka, and Shimonoseki.

For air travelers, direct limousine buses run from Gimhae International Airport to various locations in Central Busan. Whether you're exploring the city's heritage, shopping at Seomyeon, or catching a ferry to Japan, Central Busan offers a vibrant base for your journey.
