About this place
Binangonan sits where Metro Manila’s eastern sprawl meets the rural lakeshore of Rizal province. The town stretches from the busy Manila East Road corridor across a narrow coastal plain, hemmed in by the Sierra Madre mountains and Laguna de Bay. It is a place of contrasts — posh hillside resorts, a compact downtown triangle, and old-town barangays Libis and Libid around the parish church and public market.
Beyond the mainland, Binangonan occupies most of Talim Island in the middle of Laguna de Bay. While the island shares the lake waters, life there remains rural and centred on fishing, offering a slower pace that feels far removed from the congested highways of the mainland.
