About this place
Azcapotzalco, in northwestern Mexico City, is a district where deep history and authentic daily life unfold far from the usual tourist track. One of the valley's earliest great settlements, it predates the Aztecs and later became the site of the last battle of Mexico's War of Independence.
Today, travelers come for major events at the Arena Ciudad de México, expansive parks, and a remarkable traditional food scene that draws serious chefs. It's a proudly non-touristy area that rewards curious visitors with genuine culture and real community flavor.
