About this place
Palaio Faliro is a coastal municipality in Attica, part of Athens' southern suburbs, located about 6 km southwest of the city center along the Saronic Gulf. Its waterfront was revitalized for the 2004 Summer Olympics and now features a long seaside promenade, a modern marina, and public spaces popular with both locals and visitors. With roughly 64,000 residents, it offers a relaxed, residential feel while maintaining excellent connections to central Athens and the airport.

- Chapel of St. George — The oldest church in Palaio Faliro, likely built in the 17th century when the area was known as Three Towers. It sits next to the Museum of Naval Tradition and was restored in 1985.
- Church of St. Alexander — The main church of Palaio Faliro, completely rebuilt in 1952, located on the busy St. Alexander Street near Alcyonis Street.
- Church of the Assumption of Mary — A large, imposing building on Achilles Street, modeled after Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.
- Church of St. Barbara — A Byzantine-style church completed in 1965, which gave its name to the surrounding district.
- Church of Ayia Kyriaki — Founded in 1955, this stone church features a separate stone tower at the corner of Palaeologos Street.
